Passenger traffic continues to climb at Daytona Beach International Airport

Passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport increased 30 percent in June compared
with June 2009. Over the past six months, passenger traffic has increased an average of 12 percent per month over the same period last year.

The Volusia County-operated airport recorded 39,296 incoming and outgoing passengers during
June. This compares to the 30,834 travelers recorded in June last year. For the 12-month period ending June 30, passenger traffic increased 3.2 percent — from 440,157 passengers last year to 454,260 passengers this year. For June 2010, passenger loads for U.S Airways and Delta Air Lines more than doubled compared to June 2009.

“We remain cautiously optimistic this upward trend will continue through the busy summer months,” said Rick Karl, Airport Director.
